A radiology meeting has been organized to provide a forum to advance the study of abdominal radiology and its associated diseases in the Asian region by encouraging teaching, research, further education in the subspecialty, and to promote a friendly interchange with all radiologists with an interest in the field.

The 2nd Asian Congress of Abdominal Radiology (ACAR'2009 Seoul) will be held in Seoul, Republic of Korea on June 5-6, 2009. The congress will be hosted by the ACAR'2009 Seoul organizing committee and the Asian Society of Abdominal Radiology (ASAR; Seoul, Republic of Korea), a not-for-profit, nonpartisan society of physicians and scientists interested in abdominal radiology. A congress feature will be a technical exhibition where participants will be able to observe radiological innovations through direct contacts with industry.

Program highlights include a congress lecture by Peter Mueller (USA) and plenary lectures by Osamu Matsui (Japan) and James H. Ellis (USA). Other highlights include opening and closing ceremonies, congress reception, a technical exhibition, and discovery Seoul night.

Seoul is an engaging city that features both modern innovations and traditional Asian culture. The city has been the capital of Korea for over 600 years, which makes it an ideal place for enjoying the history and culture of the country. In addition to the scientific programs, social programs proposed include a "Discovery Seoul Night” tour, which will let the participant discover the charms behind this host city.

Radiologists can register for ACAR'2009 Seoul at the congress website until April 30, 2009.

ACAR'2009 Seoul expects a total of 600 participants (300 from Korea and 300 from overseas). For its part, the organizing committee of ACAR'2009 Seoul believes the congress will make a positive contribution to the development of abdominal radiology in the Asian region.
