At the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) 2026 Congress in Stockholm, GE HealthCare is highlighting Intelligent Radiation Therapy (iRT), MIM Software innovations, and BK Medical surgical imaging systems as part of an AI‑enabled oncology portfolio. The showcase emphasizes reducing workflow complexity, improving coordination across departments, and enabling more timely, personalized cancer care. The approach is designed for open, vendor‑neutral interoperability reflecting mixed‑vendor environments common in cancer centers.

iRT is an AI‑supported workflow management solution intended to shorten the time from diagnosis to treatment by automating steps from simulation to treatment planning. Through integration with treatment planning solutions, it connects CT imaging directly to plan generation and automatically transfers data to RayStation by RaySearch Laboratories for segmentation and optimization. Early adopters reported reducing simulation‑to‑planning time from seven days to seven minutes, based on two European clinical studies totaling 20 patients.

At ESTRO 2026, GE HealthCare is also presenting iRT MR Direct, which links to MR Contour DL to automatically contour organs at risk on magnetic resonance images for head and neck and pelvic regions. The workflow includes MRI Planner by Spectronic Medical to generate synthetic computed tomography images from standard MR sequences for MRI‑only radiotherapy planning. This commercial offering is not available in all regions.

For theranostics, the newly developed iRT for Theranostics provides workflow orchestration by integrating with electronic medical records and oncology information systems to guide teams step‑by‑step. The solution is designed to give a unified view of complex, multi‑specialty care. It is in development, not for sale, and not cleared or approved by the U.S. FDA or any global regulator.

Also highlighted are several additions from MIM Software, including MIM LesionID Pro, which streamlines whole-body tumor burden analysis for PSMA PET/CT and SPECT/CT; MIM Contour ProtégéAI+, which enables zero-click, AI-driven auto-contouring at simulation on CT and MR; and MIM SurePlan MRT, which standardizes radiopharmaceutical therapy dosimetry by automating steps from reconstruction and segmentation through dose calculation and reporting.

Additionally, GE HealthCare is showcasing BK Medical’s surgical visualization portfolio, including the bk3000 with bkFusion for MRI-ultrasound fusion prostate biopsy and the bkActiv S series for interventional guidance in urology, colorectal, and pelvic floor procedures. When used with MIM Symphony Dx, bk3000 supports collaboration with radiology through prostate and lesion contouring and reorientation. Predictive Fusion, enabled by ReSlicer, supports personalized MRI-ultrasound alignment, while prostate biopsies can be recorded in as little as seven minutes. The Prostate Volume Assist feature further streamlines workflow by automating prostate volume measurement through a one-click process.

“At ESTRO, clinicians come together from across the globe to accomplish a critical shared goal - advancing precision care and improving outcomes for the millions of patients diagnosed with cancer every year. Across radiation therapy, theranostics, and image guided interventions, our emphasis is on solutions that help clinicians reduce complexity so they can focus on delivering timely and personalized care,” said Dr. Ben Newton, Global Head of Oncology at GE HealthCare.
