Integrated Nuclear Medicine System Increases Clinical Throughput and Improves Interdepartmental Communication.

New software is designed to meet the specific needs of nuclear medicine, offering a unique way to fully integrate the nuclear medicine or molecular imaging department’s workflow and to optimize interdepartmental communications, using advanced image processing and speech recognition.

Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium) will present its Impax for Nuclear Medicine at the 2014 Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), held in Gothenburg (Sweden), October 18-22, 2014. Impax for Nuclear Medicine is designed to provide integrated care for the nuclear medicine or molecular imaging department. It provides optimized efficiency, due to a fully automated workflow from order to result. The advanced image processing and speech recognition allow increased clinical throughput. The solution supports improved interdepartmental communication, such as for tumor boards, to increase personalized patient care.

“Integration plays an increasing role in nuclear medicine, with more and more hospitals implementing integrated or combined nuclear medicine systems,” commented Hans Vandewyngaerde, president of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions at Agfa HealthCare. “Impax for Nuclear Medicine delivers all the benefits of integrated care to the nuclear medicine department, while supporting the hospital and caregivers in meeting the future integrated care demands of the patient-centric healthcare model.”
