Following its parent's acquisition of the oncology software portfolio of MDS Nordion (Ottawa, Canada), Nucletron B.V. More...
(Veenendaal, The Netherlands) is able to offer a totally integrated information management solution that links data between radiotherapy and oncology departments.

MDS Nordion was acquired by Delft Instruments N.V. (also in Veenendaal) in early February 2003, which then integrated the business into its subsidiary, Nucletron, a radiotherapy company. The business includes software systems such as the Oncentra suite and Electronic Patient Folder. Oncentra includes treatment planning tools that encompass the entire treatment process from image-capture to planning to long-term data archiving, and includes complete systems integration and project management services. Nucletron says these will enable the company to provide clinicians around the world with radiotherapy solutions that best fit the needs of their patients.

"This acquisition fits perfectly with both our current product offerings and the future aspirations of Nucletron,” said Rudolf Scholte, president and CEO of Nucletron. " We can make real qualitative differences to diagnostic procedures, treatment protocols, and patients' recuperation, which wholly complies with our firm vision that the patient should always come first.”
