Syncor International Corp. (Woodland Hills, CA, USA) has agreed to acquire Inovision Radiation Measurements LLC (Woodland Hills, CA, USA) and its affiliates, Victoreen LLC (Cleveland, OH, USA) and Nuclear Associates (Hicksville, NY, USA). According to Syncor, the acquisition is designed to strengthen the company's position as the leading single-source provider of nuclear medicine products and services. Syncor manufactures radiation measurement equipment and related accessories used in medical imaging and radiation therapy.

Inovision manufactures electronic equipment for the detection and measurement of radiation as well as other instruments used for quality assurance. The company's leakage detection products focus on measuring and monitoring radiation levels in laboratories and medical centers where nuclear medicine is practiced. Nuclear medicine niche products include x-ray shielding, leakage detection products, and dose calibrators.

"We've been using Inovision's products in our nuclear pharmacies for many years to monitor radiation levels and meet global safety regulations,” said Robert Funari, president of CEO of Syncor. "With the acquisition of Inovision, Syncor will no longer need to purchase these products from outside vendors.”
