An agreement between Barco (Kortrijk, Belgium), a visualization products company, and Medical Computers Deutschland (MCD; Moenchengladbach, Germany), a supplier of customized Healthcare IT (Information Technology) solutions, covers the sale of surgical displays for the healthcare industry in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. According to the agreement, MCD will replace its existing line display product line with those produced by Barco.

MCD provides IT systems integration, and supplies standard IT equipment such as Personal Computers (PC), panel PCs, portable terminals, displays, and input devices to hospitals and professional healthcare organizations in the DACH market. MCD also has Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreements with other companies for its own products, and develops and produces equipment for other medical device manufacturers.

Thomas Hollex, general manager of MCD, said, “By combining Barco’s displays with our reliable and flexible medical PC hardware, we can provide our customers with a truly reliable solution for visualization in the OR. Barco is an established brand in the healthcare sector, with an excellent reputation with regards to quality and services.”
