PETNET Solutions, Inc. (Knoxville, TN, USA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. (Malvern, PA, USA), reported on the signing of a five-year agreement with Novation (Irving, TX, USA;), a healthcare supply chain expertise and contracting company, to offer its range of positron emission tomography (PET) radiopharmaceutical agents for oncology, cardiology, and neurology to healthcare facilities in the United States. Novation provides sourcing services, as well as data services, to a wide range of US healthcare providers.

Siemens’ PETNET Solutions operates the world’s largest network of integrated US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-registered and state-licensed PET radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and radiopharmacy facilities, with over 50 locations worldwide. Siemens’ PETNET Solutions manufactures and dispenses PET radiopharmaceuticals for hospitals, clinics, and research facilities. With this new five-year agreement, Siemens’ PETNET Solutions will offer the members served by Novation the largest selection of PET radiopharmaceuticals from a single radiopharmaceutical supplier for oncology, cardiology, and neurology.

“Siemens’ PETNET Solutions is pleased to continue our relationship with Novation by providing the healthcare organization it serves with our PET radiopharmaceuticals--proprietary and generic--for clinical use in the United States. The use of these radiopharmaceuticals, in addition to all other PETNET Solutions services, will help ensure that Novation customers remain at the forefront of PET imaging,” said Dr. Christoph Zindel, CEO, PETNET Solutions.

Novation is a leading healthcare supply-chain expertise and contracting company for the more than 65,000 members of the VHA, Inc. (Irving, TX, USA) and United Healthcare (UHC; Minneapolis, MN, USA), two US healthcare alliances, and Provista, LLC (Irving, TX, USA). Novation provides alliance members with sourcing services, as well as information and data services.

The Siemens Healthcare Sector is one of the world’s largest suppliers to the healthcare industry and is focused in medical imaging, laboratory diagnostics, medical information technology (IT), and hearing aids.
