Supportive U.S. More...
health policies and increased healthcare spending by emerging economies are expected to boost the market for diagnostic imaging equipment in Brazil, Russia, India, and China (BRIC) in the years 2010-2015, according to recent market research.

Moreover, the technologic developments such as portable ultrasound systems will further jumpstart the market growth in emerging markets. Heavy import duties are restraining the growth of diagnostic imaging equipments. However, leading players such as GE Healthcare (Chalfont St. Giles, UK) and Philips Healthcare (Best, The Nethelands) are entering into partnerships with local manufacturers for the manufacture of diagnostic imaging equipments at lower cost, according to market research company, MarketsandMarkets (M&M; Dallas, TX, USA).

Computed tomography (CT) systems are found to be a high growth segment followed by Ultrasound systems and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

MarketsandMarkets is a global market research and consulting company. M&M covers 13 industry verticals, including advanced materials, automotive and transportation, banking and financial services, biotechnology, chemicals, consumer goods energy and power, food and beverages, industrial automation, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, semiconductor and electronics, and telecommunications and information technology (IT).
