Frost & Sullivan (Palo Alto, CA, USA), an international growth consultancy company, has selected Trixell (Moirans, France) as the recipient of the 2006 Frost & Sullivan Award for Global Excellence of the Year in digital radiography (DR) detector technology.

Trixell has excelled in anticipating market demand for digital x-ray detectors, leveraging global sales channels, as well as improving client value and technology developments. By sales volume, Trixell is the leading manufacturer of flat-panel digital detectors. The company sold close to 3,000 detectors in 2005 alone, accounting for half of the world's flat-panel detector sales. The company has original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreements with 10 DR manufacturers, including both long-standing and recent partnerships. Such profitable partnerships saw the company's revenue rise by 30% in 2005.

Trixell is also the only company that manufactures detectors for both dynamic and radiographic imaging. Its Pixium 4700 and 4800 lines provides modes of dynamic, or real-time video-based, imaging. The company also provides conventional radiographic detectors, which capture still images through its best-selling Pixium 4600 line. Most of Trixell's competitors offer either dynamic or radiographic detectors, which gives the company a significant competitive edge by enabling it to offer a comprehensive line of digital detector product systems to any DR manufacturer looking for extra revenue.

"OEM agreements are the mainstay of Trixell's sales and distribution channels but also require the utmost confidentiality of supply details since nearly all OEMs compete in the same market,” said Frost & Sullivan research analyst Subha Basu. "The company reported annual production volume increases of more than 50% annually since 2001, a testament to anticipating market demand, integrating demand into the supply chain, and increasing global sales through multiple OEM partners.”

Frost & Sullivan presents this award to a company that has demonstrated global excellence in a given business function such as sales, marketing, customer service, technology innovation, product quality, supply chain management, or growth strategy.
