(Cleveland, OH, USA) has announced new, direct operations in Barcelona, Spain. Previously, the company had a distributor in Spain who worked with its customers.

The direct operations, employing around 45 people, will enable Marconi to offer products and services to its installed base of about 110 hospitals throughout Spain. Leading the operations is Manuel Miras, country manager. Miras says the direct operations will give Marconi the opportunity to provide tailored solutions for customers, offering a broad product range, turnkey solutions, and consulting services.

"Having direct operations here gives us a stronger local presence and makes us better suited to meet the needs of our customers,” explains Don Graves, vice president, European Region. Marconi is a global supplier of clinically focused medical imaging systems and services.
