A commercial version of the open source radiology information system/picture archiving and communication system (RIS/PACS) is designed to give medical practices a flexible, easy to use software solution, regardless of practice size and workflow complexities.

ClearCanvas, Inc. (Toronto, Canada), a medical imaging informatics company, recently received the European Community CE marking for its RIS/PACS software. “We are very excited about the potential the CE mark has created for ClearCanvas to build on its 25,000 strong user base,” commented Norman Young, CEO of ClearCanvas. “Efficient workflow is critical to the operational effectiveness of any clinical practice, so it’s important to provide a flexible, intuitive solution.”

The ClearCanvas RIS/PACS includes features such as personalized worklists, hanging protocols, and roaming user profiles while also offering more advanced functionality to empower practices worldwide.

ClearCanvas continues to advance its product range as it anticipates the ever-changing needs of medical imaging. Mr. Young noted, “My vision for ClearCanvas has always been to offer an integrated workflow solution to the medical imaging community that improves practice efficiency and enhances patient care.”

ClearCanvas is a worldwide provider of innovative and easy to use medical imaging solutions designed for radiology, specialty clinics, community hospitals and research facilities. ClearCanvas solutions include diagnostic workstations, PACS, and RIS.
