PACS Integration with New Software Helps Address Communications Challenge

Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium), a leading provider of information technology- (IT)-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, announced the availability of workflow integration with peerVue's (Burlington, VT, USA) qiVue system. The integrated solution is available in the United States only.

Integration with Agfa's Impax 6 platform enables the radiologist to be more efficient through simple point-and-click reporting of study discrepancies and other quality- and communication-related activities directly from the Impax desktop. These processes are now required for accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and in compliance with The Joint Commission's National Patient Safety Goals. The functionality features include peer review, technologist quality control, emergency department-discrepancy management, and teaching files.

"This is another example of how Agfa HealthCare integrates specialty third-party applications with the Impax platform to meet radiologists' unique needs,” said David Talton, marketing manager, Reporting Solutions, Agfa HealthCare. "By using qiVue with other Impax integrated desktop information, including 3D [three-dimensional] visualization, reporting, and critical test result management solutions, radiologists have the tools to provide confident diagnoses and timely results.”
