A new lightweight, highly portable ultrasound system has been designed for use in guidance during regional anesthesia and pain medicine procedures.

At the 38th annual Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine meeting (ASRA), held in Boston (MA, USA), May 2013, Alpinion Medical Systems (Bothell, WA, USA) introduced the portable E-Cube 7 ultrasound system. The launch marks Alpinion's emergence into the US market, following the company’s success in the rest of the world.

“With 2,000 systems installed worldwide, Alpinion is proud to release its first ultrasound system into the US market,” said Julian Lee, CEO of Alpinion USA. “Our E-Cube 7 showcases Alpinion’s unique system design, innovative technologies, and excellent imaging performance.”

Alpinion’s E-Cube philosophy focuses on ergonomic design, efficient workflow, and excellent image quality. Key features of the E-Cube 7 include (1) A small, lightweight footprint that is easy to maneuver in tight spaces and a large 19-inch light-emitting diode (LED) monitor for enhanced ergonomics. (2) An easy to learn and use control panel with auto-optimization tools to enhance efficiency.(3) Excellent image quality and advanced technologies that enable easy needle visualization improving accuracy, effectiveness, and patient outcomes. (4) A scratch-resistant control panel and pinless transducer connectors add to the system’s sturdiness, while including a strong customer care program.

The E-Cube 7 is designed to cover a wide range of clinical applications and is ideally suited for ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, pain medicine and musculoskeletal.

Alpinion Medical Systems is a developer of diagnostic ultrasound, therapeutic high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) and sophisticated transducer technology.
