4D Ultrasound Technology Analyzes Data from Multivendor Review Stations

New four-dimensional (4D) ultrasound technology is a comprehensive software solution to review and analyze 3D/4D radiologic ultrasound data from many vendors.

At this year's annual Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) meeting held November 28 to December 3, 2010 in Chicago, IL, USA, TomTec Imaging Systems, GmbH (Unterschleissheim, Germany) introduced 4D Sono-Scan, the multivendor review solution for 3D/4D radiologic ultrasound data. With its large variety of functions for radiologic applications, 4D Sono-Scan is optimized for the visualization of anatomical structures such as fetal images or abdominal organs.

The focus is on an optimized workflow with intuitive navigation. Such as multislice, cubic-view, curved-slice, and 3D/4D volume visualization facilitate the work in the various application fields. Standard 2D measurements can be used to analyze diameters, areas, or circumferences on the multiplanar reformated (MPR) views while the 3D volume measurement functionality enables the user to calculate the volume of any object.

4D Sono-Scan is equipped with TomTec's SRI filter technology that supports the user by providing clear 2D MPR images even if ultrasound data might not have been acquired perfectly.

"Since 20 years TomTec is one of the leading innovators in ultrasound, developing cutting-edge applications as well as comprehensive platform solutions. With 4D Sono-Scan we have managed to bring our experience to the radiological field by developing a solution that combines our key strengths: a vendor-independent software with a streamlined workflow that is designed to optimize your daily routine and diagnostic outcome,” said Frank Schlau, TomTec's CMO.
