A large medical imaging company has unveiled a new advanced X-Ray Digital Radiography (DR) system at the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) 2016 show in Nashville, TN, USA.

The DR system features a unique design, advanced image processing software, and an innovative workflow. The system is floor-mounted enabling increase exam speed, improved image stitching for advanced studies, and smoother positioning.

The DR U-Arm was developed by Konica Minolta Medical Imaging (Wayne, NJ, USA) and was designed to increase patient comfort during imaging procedures, and provide a more efficient imaging workflow. The DR U-Arm is intended for use in hospital radiology departments, and for urgent care specialties including pediatrics, rheumatology, and orthopedics. The system is compact and designed to fit in older hospital facilities with low 8-ft ceilings.

Konica Minolta is also showcasing the Exa software platform, the web-based Exa Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) for full-featured zero-footprint diagnostic viewing, and the Exa Mammo mammography viewer.

Bruce Ashby, VP Konica Minolta DR division, said, “This new Konica Minolta U-Arm simply reinvents the way imaging is delivered and we are extremely excited about the many unique and proprietary features it offers. The new U-Arm system offers technologists greater flexibility while providing patients with a more comfortable exam.”
