A global medical diagnostic primary imaging systems manufacturer has announced a new Computed Radiography (CR) system intended to provide enterprise imaging capabilities for clinics, community hospitals, and private practices.

The CR system uses the same control station as the Digital Radiography (DR) wireless flat panel detector from the same manufacturer, ensuring an economically upgrade path to DR.

The SIGMA II CS-7s CR system is manufactured by Konica Minolta Medical Imaging (Wayne, NJ, USA) and is optimized to improve productivity and the imaging workflow, with fast patient imaging, high reliability, and increased imaging capacity. The CS-7 features a modality worklist, web-link capabilities, and multi-patient/trauma software. The CS-7 includes Konica Minolta’s REGIUS SIGMA II reader, the CS-7 Control Station, and two 35.56 cm x 43.18 cm plates. The CS-7s Control Station uses Konica Minolta’s Hybrid Premium Imaging Processing Algorithm (HPIPA).

Konica Minolta’s AeroDR offers wireless patient imaging data transmission for a more efficient workflow, increased clinical productivity through high availability of patient images, and portability for easier patient positioning.

Ron Batory, product marketing manager, CR and Conventional Imaging, Konica Minolta Medical Imaging, said, "The SIGMA II CS-7s brings together fast, high quality imaging with advanced functionality that offers the flexibility needed in today's changing healthcare marketplace. It delivers the performance they need for today while preserving their investment for tomorrow."
