A new imaging solution now available in and targeted to the Latin American market (except for Brazil) has been announced. The solution will integrate with existing X-ray equipment and to improve patient care and expand the ability of hospitals and clinics to carry out reimbursable imaging exams.

The scalable solution features a durable, wireless, flat panel detector, which weighs less than 2.6 kg, and measures 35.5 cm x 43.2 cm. The detector can be used in automatic X-ray detection mode or can be operated with a simple hand switch, and can be integrated with most X-ray systems. The detector can be used for bucky exams, on tables, or on a wall stand. The detector also has a long-life rapid-charge power cell. The solution features automatic image processing capabilities, and a user interface designed to save time and streamline the imaging workflow.

The solution is provided by Konica Minolta Medical Imaging (Wayne, NJ, USA), a medical diagnostic primary imaging provider, and market leader. The solution, called the ImagePilot Aero, consists of the AeroDR wireless flat panel detector and an array or workflow options.

Lisette Carrara, Marketing Manager, Latin America, Konica Minolta Medical Imaging, commented, “ImagePilot Aero provides the exam flexibility and imaging performance required by today’s busy clinics and practices. It’s the only DR solution that bundles advanced imaging, scalable workflow, and the lightest most durable wireless flat panel while protecting investment in a clinic’s existing imaging equipment.”
