CMOS Digital X-Ray Detector Designed for Mini C-Arms Used in Orthopedic Surgery

By MedImaging International staff writers
Posted on 23 Jan 2011
A new flat-panel digital detector, featuring a very compact design, is intended for mini C-arms used especially for orthopedic surgery. It is small and light, making the system easy to manipulate for all required exam angles.

The SiX 650 F is based on smart complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology that offers key advantages for both the patient and the practitioner: outstanding sensitivity at low dose, fast image acquisition, and high resolution. The detector includes real-time preprocessing, delivering clean images. Thales (Neuilly-sur-Seine, France) designed the SiX 650 F for easy integration in X-ray systems. Supplied with its control software (SDK), the system features a standard CameraLink interface.
