Portable Digital Radiography System Provides Bedside Imaging

By MedImaging staff writers
Posted on 31 Jan 2008
A new digital radiography (DR) system has a thin, lightweight design and large imaging area (35.6 x 43.2 cm). When combined with a mobile unit, the DR system can bring digital radiography directly to the patient's bedside.

Designed for diverse applications, the compact design, the CXDI-50G is a practical system for a wide range of room applications that can be difficult to perform with fixed devices. Developed by Canon USA, Inc. (Lake Success, NY, USA), the CXDI-50G can be integrated with multiple portable X-ray units, including the upgraded AMX-4+, RadPro 40kW mobile digital X-ray system, and the RadPro 4kW portable digital X-ray system, making it appropriate for bedside or post-operative procedures. The Canon field deployable digital radiography system (FDDRS), when integrated with the Canon CXDI-50G portable DR system, is suitable for examinations required in military or field operations.
