Deconstructed RIS-PACS Imaging Modalities Gaining in Popularity in Southeast Asia

Southeast Asian buyers prefer a flexible solution that can be upgraded and grow as needed, and recognize the importance of a deconstructed Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) model.

The report entitled “End-User Perspectives on the SEA RIS-PACS Market,” released by Frost & Sullivan (Mountain View, CA, USA), found that the Asia-Pacific region was a fertile market for RIS/PACS systems due to the increased use of imaging in diagnostics. The region is preparing for migrations to second or third generation Information Technology (IT) imaging systems from existing conventional imaging solutions, with associated efficiency, and workflow challenges.

Feeling the pulse of the market, visionary vendors have begun to communicate the structure and benefits of deconstructed PACS. This modular approach to imaging IT has already been introduced in the United States and Europe, and is expected to debut in Southeast Asia over the next five years."
