A remote cloud-based active monitoring system for a Digital Radiography (DR) system has been announced.

The system is able to detect and report critical issues, in real-time, and provide ongoing performance metrics and detailed reports for wireless flat-panel detectors. The reports can be accessed and reviewed remotely using data stored on the Internet cloud.

The AeroRemote monitoring solution for AeroDR wireless flat panel detectors was launched by Konica Minolta. The solution provides secure, real-time information that allows the system to be used optimally, with minimal service interruptions. The monitoring solution can also evaluate the performance of the staff using the DR system, and can provide immediate notification of various critical events. The system reports are built monthly, and including the system name, the name of the user, details of usage and productivity data.

AeroRemote uses predictive analytics to enable support personnel to assess hardware status, and plan maintenance in case of unexpected issues. This can reduce downtime by enabling scheduling servicing, before a breakdown occurs. Monitoring of AeroDR system parameters, and events includes drop detection and component performance, and encourages correct handling by users. If a DR panel is dropped or accidentally damaged AeroRemote diagnostic information on panel performance can be used to assess any damage.

Senior product marketing manager, Steven Eisner, at Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas, said, "AeroRemote is the next step in predictive technology for AeroDR Systems and helps customers intervene early and reach better decisions sooner. There is a transformation of service under way and AeroRemote provides a great deal of information that can be used to improve productivity."
