An innovative and cost-effective digital radiography (DR) system has been designed for extremity imaging. The product family includes the P-DR 715 system, which is specifically customized for the needs of podiatrists, making patient positioning a safer and easier experience. Images are available within seconds with excellent image quality.

The company, 20/20 Imaging (Crystal Lake, IL, USA), announced the 100th installation of its P-DR 715 digital radiography (DR) system at Arizona Orthopedic Surgical Hospital in Chandler, AZ, USA. Bruce W. Krell, DPM, practice owner and a solo practitioner, sees up to 125 patients per week and does up to 30 X-rays a day.

Bob Salzman, 20/20 Imaging president, said, "We are thrilled to have reached this milestone so quickly. The affordable digital solution fits into practices large and small alike. The 20/20 P-DR offers quicker turnaround for digital images than CR [computed radiography] does and eliminates everything associated with film processing from an analog facility. We look forward to the P-DR's continued growth in the podiatry market as it will continue to phase out older, less practical film processing methods.”

Dr. Krell reported that the technology has changed the way his practice functions. "Compared to processing film and storing chemicals, the image acquisition process is far more efficient. The DR has alleviated workflow back-ups and I am now able to see more patients in a day.”

The P-DR comes in the bidirectional, midbase, and retrofit configurations, making the change to digital easy for any practice.
