Oxford Instruments and GE Announce Licensing Deal

Oxford Instruments Superconductivity (OIS; Abingdon, UK) recently announced an agreement whereby GE Healthcare (Waukesha, WI, USA) will exclusively license in vitro rights to its proprietary dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) technology for the creation of the world's first DNP nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) instrument.

Traditional NMR, although a data-rich method, has always been limited by a lack of sensitivity, causing scientists to look for alternative, and often complicated and expensive ways of tackling this hurdle.
