A new next-generation clinical viewer enables the easy access and viewing of complicated medical imaging data and associated reporting from any browser-based device or iPad.

DICOM Grid (Phoenix, AZ, USA), a global provider of cloud-based medical image exchange solutions, recently launched their next-generation clinical viewer.

DICOM Grid’s proprietary technology allows clinicians to exchange and view images without the institutional or geographic boundaries that limit the conventional ways for sharing medical images. Specifically designed to improve collaboration among physicians across a variety of mobile platforms, the mobile viewer offers an intuitive interface that is simple to use and enhances a physician’s natural workflow.

Mobile viewing enables physicians to simplify collaboration with patients. Pulling up data on a tablet during the care decision process is an excellent visual aid, resulting in enhanced involvement and patient engagement. The viewer comes equipped with a variety of interactive tools used for measuring, annotating, and manipulating images. It can even be optimized for low bandwidth environments.

“The availability of user-friendly and cost-effective technology is resulting in the rapid adoption of mobile devices in the health arena,” stated Morris Panner, CEO of DICOM Grid. “The intersection of cloud data storage, secure-mobile networks, and sleek viewing applications has spawned a new era in healthcare technologies, specifically for tablet users.”

DICOM Grid’s mobile viewer comes with several patent-pending technologies that make storage and retrieval of images fast and effective. The solution can be integrated into third party systems.

The viewer is part of DICOM Grid’s range of medical image exchange features used by leading healthcare organizations to acquire, manage, distribute, and store imaging data. DICOM Grid will be rolling out the new viewer with a full launch slated for January 30, 2013.

DICOM Grid is a global cloud platform for medical imaging information and applications. Patented data security transforms medical imaging information into a data warehouse where open web services provide universal access to clinically rich data. Users can safely deploy cloud applications for medical imaging collaboration, exchange, vendor-neutral archive, mobile viewing, business continuity, electronic medical record (EMR) integration, and bio-informatics.
