IBM Watson Health (Armonk, NY, USA) presented its new portfolio of solutions designed for enterprise imaging, radiology and cardiology at RSNA 2021.

With more images to manage, sites to connect, and people sharing data, enterprise imaging is critical to patient care. At RSNA 2021, IBM demonstrated its imaging solutions that put the user in charge of the choice to run on-premises or cloud-native applications – or a hybrid of the two. For instance, the IBM iConnect Access, a FDA 510(k) cleared and CE-marked zero-download universal viewer for sharing and exchanging images across the enterprise, enables collaboration through the viewing of DICOM and non-DICOM images in a single pane of glass. Similarly, IBM iConnect Enterprise Archive, its award winning vendor neutral archive (VNA), allows to store, manage and share all enterprise-wide images, DICOM and non-DICOM, from disparate PACS, specialties, service lines and sites regardless of source or format. With IBM iConnect Enterprise Archive, users can access a consolidated view of a patient’s health record with rich integration to the EHR, helping make more informed decisions for patients.

IBM showcased its artificial intelligence (AI) imaging solutions in radiology designed to advance imaging workflows such as the IBM Imaging AI Orchestrator that seamlessly delivers aggregated AI results and worklist statuses into current radiology workflows; the IBM Imaging AI Marketplace that enables streamlining AI procurement with applications that meet strict regulatory, security and privacy requirements; and IBM Watson Patient Synopsis that enables more confident diagnoses by surfacing relevant information about patients from their medical records at the time of read.

Among its solutions designed for cardiology, IBM presented tools that automate data records management for clinicians across the cardiology service lines. For instance, IBM’s cardiac imaging and information management solution allows users to access, integrate and manage patient records with a centralized, web-enabled system, while its automated cath lab documentation solution makes cath lab processes more efficient with user-defined pre-populated fields.
