Royal Philips (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) announced the launch of IntelliSpace Portal 11, the latest release of its comprehensive, advanced visualization and quantification software, at the 2019 European Congress of Radiology. The new version further extends the clinical innovation of the Portal, with enhancements to improve workflow efficiencies, bridging secure data sharing between systems within the hospital network to address the security and privacy needs of customers globally.

Philips IntelliSpace Portal is an advanced visualization and analysis software solution designed to support diagnostic process, follow-up and communication across clinical domains and modalities, through a connected and secure workflow. The solution is a multi-modality and multi-vendor comprehensive suite of advanced visualization solutions for Radiology. It can scale to fit large scale enterprises, helping to maximize resources by leveraging analytical tools.

Philips IntelliSpace Portal 11 offers an innovative, seamless integrated portfolio of clinically rich applications for Neurology, Oncology, and Cardiology domains. The new version is focused on enhancing clinical workflow and automation via adaptive intelligence functionalities, combining clinical data from multimodalities across the health continuum. The latest iteration also includes a new integrated Nuclear Medicine Viewer by Mirada Medical designed to support clinical challenges and productivity, with a dedicated optimized workflow for quantitative patient follow-up.

IntelliSpace Portal 11 introduces new zero-footprint viewer capabilities running directly through a web browser to provide anywhere access to advanced visualization data review during multi-disciplinary meetings inside or outside the hospital. Users can consult and share findings online with real-time peer-to-peer interaction. The viewer also offers scalability from a single department to an enterprise-wide solution. The solution can be tailored to the customer environment, allowing flexible settings for patient and role-based access controls, designed to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.

“To make confident diagnoses and work efficiently, radiologists need access to up-to-date patient information, advanced visualization and analysis software,” said Efrat Shefer, General Manager, Imaging Clinical Applications & Platforms at Philips. “With IntelliSpace Portal, healthcare providers can implement one standardized workflow across the enterprise, providing everyone with a standardized view and tools they need anywhere in the department. IntelliSpace Portal 11 enables visualization through a browser interface, giving clinicians access to advanced visualization data review anywhere.”

Additionally, Philips demonstrated how Adaptive Intelligence can help streamline the path to a confident diagnosis and provide the greatest value to patients, providers and health systems by connecting data and technology to empower the people behind the image. The company also promoted its radiology solutions to help address various challenges from improving the patient and staff experience, to enhancing diagnostic confidence, and helping solve even the most complex cases.

Among its breakthrough innovations highlighted at ECR 2019 was Philips’ new, revolutionary fully sealed BlueSeal magnet, Ingenia Ambition X that enables more productive helium-free MR operations. The company also demonstrated Philips AI Breast, its ultrasound solution for breast assessment that provides all-in-one functionality, improving detection and diagnosis while increasing throughput and productivity. Philips AI Breast feature allows visual mapping of screened anatomy for documenting full coverage of the breast during the acquisition phase. Images are stored while performing sweeps to allow review on the system post examination. During acquisition, key images can be bookmarked for quick review. Images can be auto-annotated and quick orthogonal views of anatomy can be easily retrieved for enhanced workflow and documentation. Philips also showcased its DigitalDiagnost C90 premium DR room, which is designed to meet the diagnostic imaging needs of the most demanding institutions.

DigitalDiagnost C90’s live tube head camera, versatile room configurations, and exam automation technologies all help assure outstanding patient throughput. It enables more patients to be seen comfortably per day and shorten patient wait time by decreasing the time to diagnosis with innovative tools that help drive workflow efficiency.
