Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium) marked the 25th edition of ECR by demonstrating the automated workflow and care quality benefits of its AI-enabled Enterprise Imaging and digital radiography solutions. At ECR 2019, the company demonstrated how bringing intelligence to its comprehensive IT and imaging portfolios can improve the delivery of patient care and productivity. Enterprise Imaging and digital radiography solutions powered by Agfa HealthCare’s MUSICA enable workflow efficiencies and clinical collaboration, and enhance patient care, experiences and engagement. Additionally, the company participated in the Artificial Intelligence Exhibition (AIX) area, presenting use cases and highlighting collaborations.

Visitors to ECR 2019 learnt how the increasing reach of its Enterprise Imaging solutions supports Agfa HealthCare’s goal of assisting all departments and all sites of its customers around the world to deliver quality care. Enterprise Imaging is part of the company’s health IT portfolio of solutions, including Integrated Care and Electronic Medical Records, that complement each other to support quality care and informed decision-making, and accompany the patient step-by-step along the imaging journey, from scheduling, to preparation, to monitoring and follow-up.

At the Agfa booth, visitors discovered a comprehensive range of DR solutions, each powered by the MUSICA acquisition station and a choice of fixed and wireless detectors with either Cesium Iodide (CsI) or Gadolinium Oxy-Sulphide (GOS) technology. Among its range of DR solutions highlighted at ECR 2019 was the DR 800 which offers superb, dynamic imaging that enables radiology to meet the growing demand for fluoroscopy, without making multiple investments; and the fully automated DR 600 ceiling-suspended DR system that streamlines workflow, increases throughput and enhances the experience of patients and operators alike.

Agfa HealthCare also promoted its DX-D 100 mobile DR unit which offers fast, high-quality image capture and immediate image validation, transfer and access; the DR Retrofit which brings the benefits of DR to any hospital or clinic, while maximizing existing investments; and Agfa’s tomosynthesis for DR that creates multi-slice reconstructed images and uses iterative reconstruction, resulting in less dose, noise and artifacts.

“We are proud to again participate at ECR, at this very special 25th edition. Over the years, we have appreciated the opportunity it offers for exchanges with industry experts and for advancing the field towards more effective, efficient, personalized care,” said Luc Thijs, president of Agfa HealthCare. “With our Enterprise Imaging platform, we can build a quality care ecosystem for our customers that saves on costs from hardware and license fees, and security and risk mitigation, helping providers to meet their goals for patient care and long-term financial viability. And by embedding native and best of breed AI applications, we can realize the potential benefits of Augmented Intelligence, while presenting information in a more meaningful paving the path towards precision health.”

“We continue to innovate our DR portfolio with features and technologies that minimize exam preparation time, procedure time and the wait for images, enhancing user and patient satisfaction,” added Louis Kuitenbrouwer, Vice-president of the Radiology Solutions Division at Agfa. “By delivering augmented intelligence in the imaging environment and beyond, Agfa strives to provide tools to further enhance the delivery of patient care, enable care givers to focus their efforts on value-added tasks, and support the goals of the care organization.”
