Canon Medical Systems (Otawara, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan) showcased its exciting line-up of products in each modality at ECR 2019 and held live demonstrations of its latest innovations that help provide better patient care with greater efficiency. The company also offered educational events at ECR 2019, and in addition to its lunch symposium, it hosted comprehensive workshops program, providing participants with the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and skills on the latest imaging technologies.

At ECR 2019, Canon highlighted its new Alphenix family of angiography systems that deliver images with greater clarity and precision, facilitating better clinical decisions and improving patient outcomes; and its groundbreaking new Infinix-i 4DCT that helps bridge the gap between the interventional lab and CT with one seamlessly integrated solution for the ultimate in patient care. Canon also showcased its wide range of CT systems, including the Celesteion PUREViSION Edition PET/CT System; the Aquilion Precision which is the world’s first Ultra-High Resolution CT (UHR CT) capable of resolving anatomy as small as 150 microns, providing CT image quality with resolution typically seen only in cath labs; the Aquilion ONE GENESIS Edition goes beyond the evolution of Dynamic Volume CT; and the new Aquilion Prime SP CT system for all imaging needs.

Canon’s portfolio of MRI systems highlighted at ECR 2019 included the Vantage Orian 1.5 Tesla MRI that is designed to increase productivity and lower running costs, ensure patient comfort and deliver uncompromised clinical confidence; the Vantage Galan 3T that offers a transformational experience for clinicians and patients in MR; and the Vantage Elan that offers high image quality. Canon also promoted its Aplio series of diagnostic ultrasound systems, which offer better image quality by reducing noise, strengthening signal and improving visualization.

Canon also highlighted its range of digital X-ray systems, including the Ultimax-i with a C-arm that permits the region of interest to be observed from various angles; the digital, remote-controlled Xantara which is a complete solution for digital radiography and fluoroscopy; its premium digital radiography system Aceso+ which provides high image quality, clinical flexibility and superior workflow for a complete range of radiographic applications; its versatile digital radiography system Aceso which combines outstanding image quality with clinical flexibility and high productivity for a wide range of radiographic applications; its RADREX series of general radiography systems which boasts superior performance and functions; and the Artemis system designed to provide best-in-class clinical results for breast screening and diagnostic mammography.

Additionally, Canon presented the Vitrea Advanced Visualization, a modular viewing platform that provides a broad range of functions with the option of adding more functionality. The multi-modality suite of advanced applications provides full-powered solutions for 2D, 3D and 4D advanced visualization used to process and analyze clinical data from multiple modalities – CT, MR, PET, SPECT, US and XA. Vitrea Advanced Visualization is multi-vendor and allows the use of advanced applications with all modalities – irrespective of the manufacturer.
