Shimadzu Corporation (Kyoto, Japan), a manufacturer of diagnostic imaging equipment, has introduced the new Trinias series unity edition angiography system in 10 different ceiling- or floor-mounted, as single- or bi-plane models that support interventions in all regions of the body. “Unity” stands for “Unlimited Intelligent Technology” and covers the cardiac, neurological, abdominal and peripheral regions by utilizing cutting-edge image-processing technology, which fully communicates with the multi-functional examination table to promote low radiation exposure and even more qualified device visualization.

The Trinias unity edition uses real-time image-processing technologies for more efficient workflow and to support better patient care. For instance, it features the “Flex-APS” optimization software for artifact reduction in real-time that automatically corrects any pixel movement during DSA acquisition if the image of the vessel deviates from the live image acquired by contrast imaging. Additionally, the new “SCORE Chase” application shows the entire peripheral region in one image by automatically stitching together the individual images without delay. Moreover, communication with the multi-functional patient table allows for flexible table positioning via the tilting function and supports different commands, such as switching or selection of the displayed image, which can be selected via a customizable touch-panel console on the side of the table.

Angiography systems have become an established method of treatment as the intervention is far less invasive than a surgical treatment. This has created the need for angiography systems, which combine low radiation exposure with high image quality, cover several anatomical regions and support various treatments and diagnostic examinations using different devices. The Trinias unity edition can also be equipped with a 16x12 inch dynamic detector for effectively covering large body parts, such as the abdominal or peripheral regions. With the introduction of the new Trinias series unity edition angiography system, Shimadzu aims at reducing any negative impact on patients and examiners, taking into account the whole body, such as the cardiac, neuronal, abdominal and peripheral regions.
