A new ultrasound system with innovative specialized transducers and improved image quality, intended for general imaging, women’s health, and shared service applications, has been announced.

The system features improved accuracy, performance, assessment tools, advanced automation, and an enhanced user experience. Image quality for 3-D/4-D imaging is maximized by combining Live HQ and anatomical realism, a moveable light source, and an industry-first single crystal volume convex transducer. Patient care is improved by shorter procedure times, and less patient discomfort.

The new E-CUBE Series 15 EX ultrasound system was developed by ALPINION (Seoul, Korea) and features advanced imaging technologies and new transducer technology. The system is intended for use in general ultrasound imaging, for various women's health issues, and cardiology. The E-CUBE 15 EX has features that help automate fetal health and cardiac monitoring.

ALPINION also developed the EV3-10X, EC3-10X first-of-a-kind wide-angle Endovaginal transducers, with a maximum field-of-view of 230 degrees. The VE3-10H Endocavity transducer has a 10-mm tip, and is useful for ultrasound exams during the first trimester, and for general gynecological exams. Another new transducer is the IO8-17 high frequency hockey stick linear transducer designed to facilitate angulation and control. The Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) transducer is intended for cardiac imaging applications. Another feature of the E-CUBE 15 EX is ALPINION’s Auto NT nuchal translucency thickness measurement tool which is much more accurate than performing measurement manually.

The E-CUBE 15 EX is also intended for the investigation of the vascular system, small body parts, and musculoskeletal exams, and can be used for stress echo exams and elastography. The system panel features a new interface, and application-focused exam presets, combined simplified image acquisition, and a touchscreen.

The E-CUBE 15 EX includes the following advanced optimization and customization features: Flow State for single touch optimization during Doppler scanning; S-FOV, user-selectable Field Of View (FOV) presets that can be saved and reused; and EX-FOV, to expand the field of view up to 230 while scanning.
