A new ultrasound system, the Acuson S3000, features fusion imaging software and computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) multimodality review capabilities. CT and MR images can be imported quickly for easy side-by-side comparison for increased diagnostic effectiveness during clinical analysis.

Siemens Healthcare (Erlangen, Germany) will be presenting the Acuson S3000 and the Acuson S1000 diagnostic ultrasound systems at a special launch event to be held on June 25, 2012, during the UKRC Conference Event in Manchester (UK). It will be the first time the Acuson S3000 will be unveiled to clinicians in the UK and delegates will be able to examine the technology and speak with Siemens experts about functionality and benefits.

The Acuson S3000 is Siemens’ ultrasound system and features eSie Fusion-imaging software and CT and MRI multimodality review capabilities. CT and MR images can be imported rapidly for easy side-by-side comparison for increased diagnostic confidence during clinical analysis. A range of new applications are available for the Acuson S3000, including Virtual Touch tissue IQ, which provides simultaneous displays of color-coded tissue stiffness and shear wave velocity measurements in a single image. This application allows visual evaluation of lesions and stiffness characteristics and provides simultaneous quantitative evaluation in a simplified process.

The AcusonS1000 is a cost-effective ultrasound system that effectively tackles a range of disciplines and patient types. It is equipped with a suite of transducers that are capable of performing up to 27 different examination types for ultimate flexibility. It is suitable for a range of purposes from general imaging, gynecology, obstetrics, pediatric, and gynecology. The Acuson S1000 also features elasticity imaging and contrast-enhanced ultrasound capabilities and can be used for intracardiac echocardiography using the Acuson AcuNav catheter. The Acuson S2000 with its unique HD transducer technology completes the ‘S’ Class family.

“The Acusion S1000 and Acuson S3000 systems are valuable additions to the Siemens ultrasound portfolio,” stated Bernadette Leonard, regional sales manager and clinical applications manager, ultrasound and echocardiology products at Siemens Healthcare. “Both are flexible, high performance imaging solutions designed to increase diagnostic confidence and streamline departmental workflow. Clinicians familiar with the existing range of Acuson systems will appreciate the similar user-friendly capabilities and ergonomic design.”
