A medical imaging company that designs and manufactures digital X-ray systems has announced the release of a new lightweight wireless flat panel detector, and it’s approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA; Silver Spring, MD USA), at the annual meeting of the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA 2015) in Las Vegas, USA.

The detector is 43.2 x 35.6 cm in size, and has a robust construction. The detector’s design was optimized for portability and usability, and for rapid image acquisition. The detector features wireless data transmission capabilities.

The new DIGIVIEW 395 detector was designed and developed by Kubtec (Milford, CT, USA), a medical imaging vendor that designs, develops, and manufactures digital X-ray systems for specimen radiography, low-dose neonatal imaging, scientific research, and other nonmedical applications. The portable design of the DIGIVIEW 395 makes it suitable for use in any location where medical imaging is required, and improves clinicians’ access to critical medical information enabling faster interpretation, and diagnosis.

Tom Dzuibeck, director of Kubtec’s North American Sales, said, “Receiving FDA approval for the DIGIVIEW 395 high resolution wireless, means radiology departments now have access to a tool that will aid them in delivering high quality critical care at the bedside, in the X-ray suite or ER—or even in the field for mass casualty situations.”
