An independent developer and manufacturer of innovative imaging systems has revealed details of new ground-breaking preclinical cryogen-free MRI imaging systems at the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) in Singapore in May 2016.

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology leader develops and manufactures a range of cryogen-free, superconducting, preclinical benchtop MRI systems, including Positron-Emission Tomography (PET) and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) for improved imaging results.

At the ISMRM meeting MR Solutions (Guildford, Surrey, UK) revealed details of the new 9.4-T cryogen-free scanner, and a new compact 3-T system with a 12 cm bore. MR Solutions is the only company to offer a range of commercial cryogen-free preclinical MRI systems, and has already delivered cryogen-free 3-T and 7-T MRI scanners to major international research centers.

The cryogen-free superconducting magnet technology eliminates the need for liquid helium, reduces capital and running costs, and has a stray magnetic field of only several centimeters. MR Solutions’ scanners are unique in that the magnetic field strength can be adjusted.

Dr David Taylor, CEO, MR Solutions, said, “Delegates going to ISMRM have already expressed interest in meeting up to discuss our multi-modality imaging systems with additional PET and SPECT capabilities. We are really delighted to be able to offer a system which can not only meet their multi-modality needs, but can also incorporate power protection during utility failure to prevent system downtime.”
