A universal viewing and image sharing system effectively combines enterprise viewing with image sharing for easy image review for referring physicians 24/7.

Merge Healthcare, Inc. (Chicago, IL, USA), is showing their new universal viewer system at Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting on December 1–6, 2013, in Chicago (IL, USA). Because patients are cared for in multiple locations, iConnect Access tackles the need for a clinical collaboration solution that enables patients’ images to go along with them to the point of care. Merge’s system incorporates a zero-client enterprise universal viewer with an image sharing/CD import workflow manager and a non-digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) management tool that integrates into electronic health record (EHR) workflow. This single, integrated solution aligns with an organization’s tactical goals, optimizes performance, and is simple-to-use by all participants.

“Based on client feedback and changing clinical, IT [information technology], and business requirements, Merge has developed three flexible configurations of iConnect Access that can meet all institutions’ specific mission and workflows,” said Justin Dearborn, CEO of Merge. “Merge is the only vendor to offer this unique and innovative combination of image sharing and enterprise viewing…no third-parties, no partners. This is our true end-to-end enterprise imaging solution and we are pleased to show it at RSNA this year.”

Slated for delivery in the first quarter of 2014, iConnect Access 5.0 is part of the iConnect enterprise clinical platform and includes iConnect enterprise archive.
